The Demo for one of ~UndyingNephalim's games, The Gerudo Wars, is now available. It is a real-time strategy game in which you pick a hero of one of the many races of Hyrule, collect resources, and fund your army in order to defeat the enemy forces and the hero leading them. Currently available are the Hylians and the Gerudo, though more races will be available when the full game is released.

I haven't played it yet, but I have seen the game in the making as Neph showed me many screencaps (including an amusing one with a randomly jumping Halberdier). It looks like a fun game, even though I'm not much of a fan of real-time strategy. I personally look forward to seeing the completed game, when all races are available.

This game, like many RTS games, features voiceovers to announce various happenings in the game, such as being attacked and needing more resources. There is also narration in the game's tutorial, done by a female Hylian voice. Which would be how I factor into this project, aside from giving Neph pep talks to keep his spirits up as well as futilely trying to help him find glitches in the coding (he found most of them, the glitches still in the game now are NOTHING compared to the glitches that were popping up. We're talking game-breaking glitches.)

In order to help the game be released on the announced date, yesterday was spent recording the tutorial lines. Some 30+ lines to be recorded, and each took about 3-5 takes to get right (trying to speak around braces can be a pain), and some took even more because of the particular dialogue or because my recording system liked to crash a lot, especially when I got what I felt were perfect takes. So, needless to say, this took more hours than I expected.

In any event, much work went into this game from the both of us, and we really hope that you enjoy it. And if people find my voice annoying, there is probably a mute option somewhere.

FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN ASSISTING WITH VOICEOVERS
Neph is in need of voices for the other races, though for now he is mostly looking for a voice for the Gerudo. For the Gerudo, he is in need of a strong female voice who can speak with preferrably an arabic accent.

More voices (both male and female) will be needed for the other races, so if you think you have what it takes, I would suggest sending ~UndyingNephalim a note inquiring about it. Best of luck to those that are interested.
