Nayru is the youngest of the Golden Goddesses, and is considered an icon of wisdom and fairness to all of Hyrule. Known for her love of children, she, like Koboku, is looked to as the guardian of Hyrule's younger generations, and expecting mothers. A lesser-known trait of hers (which is often overlooked for the sake of her title) is her tendency to act a little spacey, as even the wisest of them all can still be a little airheaded at times.
Shortly after creating Hyrule, the Golden Goddesses came to an agreement about the protection of the world they had created. Knowing the risks that came with giving their creations free will, and being aware of the restrictions they faced in how they could protect their creations from destroying themselves, they decided to grant special favors on three individuals of every generation, in the possibility of an impending doom that could not be solved by mortal abilities alone. The three sisters would consult with the Goddess of Time, seeking insight and assistance, so that they could be aware if such a crisis were to arise.
Nayru turned her attention to Hyrule's royal family, believing that it might be best if one of the most influential people of Hyrule would be granted her gift of wisdom. She chose a woman, wanting a person with great empathy and generosity, and every daughter born from her bloodline would be granted with her gift.
Much like her younger brother, Jabun, Nayru is depicted in varying shades of blues, and more often than not cooler shades tend to be used. The reasoning behind this is that blue is a soft and soothing color, calming the mind and bringing forth deeper, clearer thoughts.
The symbol of the three Golden Goddesses is the all-powerful and ever-famous Triforce, comprised of the individual pieces of Power, Courage, and Wisdom. Legend has it that if a person with a pure heart of equal balance lays a hand on the Triforce, they will attain the power of the gods and create a golden land for the people of Hyrule. If one with an evil heart lays his hand upon the Triforce, the pieces will separate and immediately seek out those chosen by destiny to keep the world from becoming overcome by darkness.
I really love the cell shading you do - is that what it is? Either way, I think it makes your drawings look really cool, since the colours are solid, yet have detail to them, rather than being flat. You haven't skimped on the drawing, either, since everything looks anatomically correct and such.
The addition of a background is very nice as well - more interesting than just a solid colour. I guess I like the simplicity and hidden detail of your work. Keep it up!

Your background reminds me of a double helix jet of water. Cool! And Nayru looks very... blue. I wonder how the new Farore will look when you're done... o.o Can't wait, I tell ya!

Hehehe, well, it's the same bg as the previous image Sadly I don't have my sparkle brushes anymore, so I have to reuse my backgrounds instead of creating new ones. Not that I mind. The old bgs were kickass.
And yes. She is very blue. The Golden Goddesses tend to be rather monochromatic. So Farore will be green and Din will be red.
I can't wait either. It's gonna be soooooooooooo fun. Din will be fun too. X3 WHEE!
It's actually not cel-shading, but a softer form of shading. Nowhere near as awesome as Kan-chan's, but I like mine the way it is. An example of cel-shading can be seen here. Cel-shading has solid, clear edges to the shadows and highlight, making them look like blocks of color. The softer shading method has them blending in, making it look more realistic, but at the same time it can look blotchy (like in some of mine), possibly streaky, or they may look like cel-shading with fuzzy edges.
Hee, thank you. :3 Nowadays, everyone tosses around the words 'anime' and 'manga' like they mean something specific. I prefer hearing that my art has 'simplicity' and 'hidden detail' instead because it's supposed to be what I call 'abbreviated realism'. Anal retentiveness ftl.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
